rear sprocket teeth are offset???
« on: January 20, 2005, 06:11:03 AM »
I was looking at my rear sprocket to see how many teeth it had and I noticed the teeth are offset from side to side every other tooth. I've never seen a sprocket like that before. It's definitly made that way and not worn out. Is it some kind of special sprocket to clear the mud from the chain links?

Also, the chain seems like its rubbing on the chain guide that is just below the swing-arm. It may be bent or something, how much clearence is there supposed to be on the sides of the chain when it goes through the guide?

I dont remember who makes it,but it does help in mud, the offset teeth are for weight savings.I made my own chain guide years ago,so I dont remember on the stocker but the chain should be centered and straight through. It probally got bent and needs to be realighned.
