New guy once again
« on: January 23, 2014, 10:56:58 AM »
I am the owner of a 2001 kx 500. I have posted on here before but had to start a new account again due to password retrieval issues. Anyhow. As I said earlier I currently ride a kx 500. I love it like I've never loved a bike before. Leaving quads behind, bathing in my sand roost this beast effortlessly throws as I use every bit of strength I can manage to hang on and keep it in check ripping through the gears and grabbing handfuls of throttle has become an addiction. However. There have been moments when I have slipped up and this bike has spanked me hard. Getting older this crap hurts way more than it used to and the wife if getting tired of it. So I need to get some more posts under my belt to be able to post in the classifieds, my kx 500 for sale or parting it out. I am looking to get a kx 250 cause I will never give up riding by choice only make compromises to keep the wife happy and my aging, beat up body. I'm not very happy about this future departure from my beloved 500 so I am gonna cut this short here. Nice to have a place where others can understand my emotions and respect that as well. Tired of hearing "it's just a stupid dirt bike!" It's way more than that to me. Things I've experienced on that bike are almost impossible to replicate. Thanks

I think 500's are easier to ride...
More torque, easy handling...
Fewer shifts...
Just be a little more careful on throttle control  :-D
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

wow that was deep...and very relatable....we're all gonna be there eventually, but at least you're not thinking of giving up the sport completely yet! :-D
