pro circuit pipe question
« on: March 23, 2014, 08:17:42 AM »
is there any difference between the pc and pc2 other than the thickness of steel used? i know that both fmf pipes are different power curves but use the same 18 gauge steel however i was hoping to get the pro circuit due to the fact everyone says it makes the most overall power on the k5 but the pc2 is not available anymore according to pro circuit.

Have you called Pro Circuit and verified it?...I went through the same thing, because their website doesn't list one for the Kawie...but I called them and they said they did carry the PC2 for the K5 and that they were not aware their website was not listing it....this was just last Sept-Oct.
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

yes i called them actually last winter and they said they only had the pc platinum. so i ended up putting a nice stocker on it i picked up cheap but i find my  self missing that 250 on crack feeling that my 87 had with the pc works. just don't want the hassle of a works finish any more and would like the thicker material like the pc2 and fmf  gnarlys.

did they give you any indication whether they planned on making another batch of them?...they actually had them in stock when I called last fall, but because they weren't listed on their website, I bought a complete FMF set-up.
they acknowledged that they had screwed up by not having them listed, and the guy on the phone at PC offered me a complete PC2 set-up with a 10% discount....but it was already too late, I had got the FMF already.
Have you tried e-bay?...just be careful if you do....you could end up with the original Platinum and not the PC2.

already had a bad ebay experience so i don't want to go that route. i did not ask when they would make more so i guess it would be worth another call. is there supposed to be a big difference between the fmf desert pipe and the pc2?

I honestly don't know...I've never had the chance to try a PC2, or a PC in general on my 500...it had an FMF Woods on it when I bought it....got an FMF Desert shortly afterwards, and I've been very happy with how it performs since.
I know Sandblaster runs a PC2 on one of his k5s...maybe he'll chime in and offer his input.

here's a couple old threads on pipes...not sure if they'll be the help you're looking for, there is a thread somewhere on here where stewart had dynode all kinds of pipes, and one of the PC pipes came out the winner.

PC2 has been the best all round choice.  Motosport still sells it.  Both FMF desert gnarly and PC2 are great choices.

thanks for the help guys. just placed my order from motosport. should have it by friday. its going to be hard not to bolt it on right away but as i said in another thread about reeds that i will first do a test of my stock reed cage against my new mossbarger cage and give my honest feedback. then on goes the pipe and hopefully nothing but smiles from there. :-D
