Looking into selling.....

I am looking into selling my 1993 KX 500.

I bought this bike from an elderly rider that used it sparingly. When I bought the bike, it had been garaged for over 6 years. It was sitting so long that the rubber on the tires was hard and you could twist them and they would break off.

Anyways, when I got it home, I tore it down to the frame. I had Millennium Technologies re-nikasil plate the cylinder. I had the bottom end split open because of a cracked case. I was able to find cases from a 2003 KX 500 that were in perfect condition. I had all the seals and bearings replaced, and I also had a local ex Team Green mechanic modify the transmission and reassemble the bottom end for me.

I don't know how much this thing is worth, so I am asking all of you out there before I list it.

I have a bunch of other items that I will let go with the bike.

An over sized gas tank
Extra radiator shrouds
Extra 18" rear wheel
Extra 19" rear wheel
Extra front wheel
Extra swing arm
Extra front forks off of a '98 KX 500 with triple clamps
Stock exhaust pipe
Extra FMF Turbine core silencer
and a few other small extra items.

Kelly Blue Book full on hard core retail is 1575.
Trade in is 1020.
I usually tell local people that they will get somewhere in between..
However, you have a Big Bore 2 stroke in what sounds like excellent condition.
If you find the right buyer you could probably get 1575 for the bike (Parts not included).
The problem is a slumping economy, high unemployment or under employment, and when football season starts, the riding season nearly dies...
So, it really is a roll of the dice this time of the year.
If it were me and I wasn't hurting for the money right away I would sell the parts separately and wait till next spring to sell it.
Then again, you never know who is looking to buy right now and has cash...
If your going to sell the parts separately I might be interested in the Extra FMF Turbine core silencer

Dibs on a rear wheel prefer the 18"  but really all I care about is a the hub are either the 3 bearing

Are you looking for the single or double drive bearing?

3 bearings total , I have the 2 bearing hub but plan on making some power & want the extra insurance

Ok, be careful because I have seen the single drive bearing on a r1237

Nope...
Granted, I have only seen a single bearing on the newer hub once before so the odds should be low of finding another...
But ask first and you won't be sorry..

MY 1993 had only single bearings.  Thats what I found out when it blew up...
