A hospital I worked at in Maine in 2002 had a new 01 Chevy PU with the 8.1/Allison tranny...it breaks down to a 496cu.
I will say, it was, and still is the fastest most powerful stock gas (and diesel for that matter) PU I have ever driven.
Not that you care to know....but I'd take it out on a daily basis just to go out and lay down some INSANE posi strips around Bar Harbor....and feel the rush of the "plastered in the seat acceleration" and HEALTHY shifts.
I did this for nearly 2 years with that thing, and never had any issues....it took the abuse like a typical Chevy. And I know I wasn't the only employee that took it out for a beating either.
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

yeah, I have yet to drive an 8.1 with the 6 speed....I can only imagine how much better/refined it would be over the 4 speed...wrap around smiles!

Looks nice. The doors on those feel chinese quality, just when you shut them. GM's really great extended cab, go quad cab though & it'd be good. Give you something to not like about anything right  :-D

Nice looking truck though

dont want a quad cab.   too long WB.

I know what ya mean about the doors.  buddy had a 2008? 2009? truck.    Id always go back to shut the doors a second time, cuz then never went "thud" shut like all my 1972 chevys etc.

I'll never get an extended cab again if I can help it.  Trying to open a regular door and then a rear door up against a car in a parking lot to load some items is a huge pain and sometimes impossible.

Does make me think , dont believe everything on the net

06-10 dmax would be good if you update the pistons & have some of that external balance weight adjusted inward I could post a pic or 2 if you want visualization

How was the 460?

Never been a ford motor fan.   they always use more fuel and make less power that the SBC and BBC equivilant.  But perhapse Im just stuck on what I have been told since I was 2 yrs old.

Not bad ermmmhhh, the best ford engine. the rods are kind of lightweight & intake port angle is into the side of the cylinder instead of shooting into the middle like half the ports on a bbc . Plenty of room for a stroker crank, the one you posted is to long
& an auto though. Thats actually one of the only ford motors I would use. If the trans is the c6 you got something but aod...
Go 70's high boy ford with a 460 &  you got something

Wow, that looks like a great deal.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
