New guy from NY
« on: September 09, 2013, 11:59:49 AM »
Just wanted to say hello from NY. I'm  restoring a 1991 KX 250. Waiting for the frame & subframe to get back with a new coat of green powder coat. Having some issues with the blue upside down front forks. The aluminum on the outer fork tubes is brittle and flaking off. I would like to see if I can locate a pair of outer fork tubes and use my insides ? Thanks for any advice & I have to figure out how to post pics. John

Hi timberwolves and welcome to the forum.
It will be a hard find looking for just the outers.
Your probably better off finding a set on eBay.

Post some pics and watch out for the Candyman  :-)

The day I picked my new to me bike. I have since taken it down to the frame. Also some pics of the outer tubes.

these are a steal if you want new ones and if Kawie didn't change the diameter between 91-92-93(I don't think they did but I could be wrong)...Kawie lists them for $600+ for a pair.

This guy has one for the "J" model and one for the "H" model.
I've purchased from him a few times over the last couple years with no problems/issues.
Sure would look good with that freshly powder coated frame!
