KX500SF Coolant flow
« on: September 03, 2013, 10:41:18 PM »
I am building a 2001 KX250-500SF conversion.

Can the original KX250 Parralel radiators be used or should they be in series like the original KX5 has?

The parallel system has been ran.
But, as far as I know they did not have temp gauges to compare.
So, will it work?
Sure.
Will it help or hurt?
Who knows...
And, let's add one more question... Can the flow be reversed?
Yes, but again, will it help or hurt?
I have stock cooling numbers, both head and coolant....
Take a look at this thread..

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

i use the k5-rads on my 93-250-frame, because, they fit perfectly to this frame... :-)...
and i´ve seen many kx500sf-conversions with the kx250 L-frame and the 250-radiators... it seems to work properly without problems...
