Hi to all in KX land.  I have been riding open bikes past 10 years in Ultima class at vintage events.  I have an upcoming spinal fusion surgery soon, and am listing my 1981 KX420 on craigslist Seattle. I just purchased this and a 1979 KX250 builder from a good friend, but can't afford to keep. I will ride again, but in about 9 months to a year. I am in love with the 420,Very clean and has 46mm cartridge forks from newer KX.but reality dictates sale. I know someone here will appreciate the KX's as much as I do.
Jim

The 46 MM forks are the best I have had.  I read years ago that Jeff Ward felt the same way . He said"'we have the best forks made," he thought why then go to the USD type?  People buy technology and perception, so Upside Down Forks sounded 'better on paper'. The rest is history.

very nice bike

the european models came with the 41mm usd-fork in 89... some guys mounted the 88 forks on, they were quite better. i ride my ´87 with the 41 usd, its ok, but i´m planning to update it to the blue 43usd forks or maybe find a 46 fork of the us-bike...

Either of those choices sound ( and will look) great.
