My KX500AF build

I finally finished my KX500AF build that I have been working on over the last year. It is a 2006-2008 KX450F chassis with a 1994 KX500 motor. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but it was a lot of fun. A big thanks to Benny Lindberg for all the help both from his write up and from his email correspondence. Also my friend Macintosh Mcgrew for his machining and welding expertise. Rode it for the first time last weekend and all I can say is WOW! It is going to be for sale but I will post that in the for sale forum.[/img]

why does it seem that every one that builds one of these.. puts it up for sale ?

those chamfered blocks for the headstay mount so you could use your stock motor mounts from the 4 stroke is a pretty neat idea. good job!
i agree, bike looks awesome, why sell it.

don't know about others, but for me, we liked the steel frame better. My latest may end up on the block as well, built it to test motor combinations and used the Showa components to see what we liked best, so who knows it may stay or it may go. Half the fun is building them, I usually build some kind of a hybrid in the winters for something to do, keeps me out of trouble.

When I talked to Benny about what he would do differently on his build he said he would have made it so the top motor mount was removable, and I had those existing 450 pieces and wanted to figure out a way to use them, it turned out really well. The reason I am selling it is because my wife and I are expecting our third child any time now and I want to have a little bit of money saved up to help with bills and other things while my wife takes some time off work. I may build another one in the future though.

Thanks, I had a guy custom print these graphics and then later found out that One Industries made them, cost a little more but oh well I think they turned out nice anyway.
