You really cant go wrong with either one.  I have had success with both. I found only slight differences in the two on the dyno, with my 125's. But they do deliver power differently. I favor the Pro-Circuit. However, my KX250 has an FMF. Mostly because I couldn't afford the PC at that time. I am happy with my Fatty. Does your son race? What are you trying to achieve by adding a pipe?

one thing to keep in mind, Pro Circuit has a boatload of championships with the 125, now granted the motors may be different but the pipes for the most part are the same. We've run FMF, Pro circuit and Bills pipes when we had 125's I think I was partial to the Pro Circuit, maybe because I didn't like the coated pipes. Today on our 4t we rrun FMF
Live today, for tomorrow may never come

I've always used Pro Circuit on all my 125s and 250s since the late 80s'/early 90s'....just my opinion, but I always thought they had the best mid to top performance, and I've always loved the way the PC silencers sound.
I run a complete FMF system(Desert) on my 500,only because I could'nt find a Pro Circuit set at the time...at some point I will buy a PC setup for the 500 to try out.
Sandmaster995 and don46 both make great points....you can't really go wrong with either one,and Pro Circuit does have a ton of championships.
They're both awesome setups...I myself, like the PC best.
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

I always like to open the engine up and
let 'em breath that is why I am considering
the change. No, my son doesn't race. I am
looking for a smoother transition into the
powerband actually.
Thanks for the input fellas.....

Smoother power band = FMF.  The Pro Circuit hits a little harder.
BECAUSE GOLF COURSES SHOULD BE MOTOCROSS TRACKS.
