Aluminum Frame Heat Treating
« on: February 26, 2018, 03:20:58 PM »
Does anyone know a place to send your aluminum frame for heat treating?  I tried a bike place, but they weren’t interested in doing a dirt bike’s frame.
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?

I would guess he wants to relieve stresses in the frame and welds. Not really 'heat treating', more 'normalizing' but pretty much the same basic process. I would not think you would want an aluminum frame 'too' hard to allow it to flex some?
