Clutch question - wont disengage
« on: May 09, 2013, 02:39:35 AM »
Hey, I left my 86' kx sitting for about 2 months with no Trans oil in it. And now that I got this bike back together I noticed when I press the clutch lever the clutch is still engaged and won't roll. So I took the cover off, took all the plates off and used some steel wool on the steel plates to get some of the remaining fiber off. ( there was very little, and the plates were just barely sticking together) I then soaked all the plates in oil. I reinstalled the clutch and it's better... But still not wanting to move very much at all. Also there's a small bolt on the outside of the case right under the arm that connects the clutch assembly to the cable. And im not sure what it's there for. It won't seem to thread into anything. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks a lot Guys.

If you mean that when your bike is not running it seems like your clutch is not working that is totally normal, your bike will still feel like its in gear with the clutch pulled in when its not running
