Hey all. Just got on here as figure it would be a good source of info for the 2003 KX500 that i just picked up a few months ago. Always been interested in seeing how the big bore 2 strokes go. Havent spent a huge amount of time riding it yet. Mostly just short runs around the farm, but going on a decent ride next weekend.
Also run a Limited edition 2001 Yamaha YZ250WR that i have had since new. Still love that thing as well but the KX is just a different bike completely. And have a 2005 KTM Superduke for street duties.

Good to have you GTiR1080.
You'll find that the K5 is just a little more humbling to ride then the wr  :-D
We all love to see pics of where you ride...
kxpegger is right, there is more k5 knowledge here then most people will ever need.
Welcome!
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

I dont know about more humbling to ride then the YZ, but the 500 is defiinitely a hauler from the bottom end. As for where i ride, alot of the time its just around my parents farm, but have been out to another spot a couple of times recently. Will have my helmet cam on again next weekend so i will likely end up with something up after then. This was from the last time there.

And just for anyone wondering about the YZ250WR, they were a one off thing that yamaha australia did in 01. They are just a YZ250 but with the bare minimum requirements to get them road registered. Supposedly there were only 25 made. So they are technically still a YZ and not a WR ha ha.
