just wondering what people are using and where people are getting the longer springs to use with the fmf pipes for the af conversions?

Rocky Mountain sells different length springs but they take a little bit of looking or just give them a call.

Thanks,
I thought I had heard someone mention before that they were using springs off the arctic cat sleds.

I bought the SH pipe and springs. I just went to fit it tonight, and the springs they sent are shorter that the original KX500. They won't go anywhere near! Also, the U shape cooling pipe rubs on the inside of the pipe. Going to need a bit of "adjustment" there I think...
I'm off to the local sled shop on Saturday morning. It's a big main dealer for Arctic cat, Suzuki, Yamaha and Harley, so I might get lucky. If I do, I'll try and post up a part number.

Those puppies are tight !!!, but their on there.
Anyone know the stock length of the springs in millimetres?
I've seen several places now that sell in many different lengths.

Well, I headed off down to the local store and had a look at their snowmobile springs. They are huge! Diameter wise...
So that was a no go. I ended up ordering two sets of FMF springs. They come in packs of 5 for $7 a pop. I ordered the 85mm and 90mm springs. Ideally, you need two different length of springs anyway. The one on the underside of the cylinder needs to be longer.
I agree yeoman, the standard KX500 springs are way to short for my liking also. I bought those, but didn't even try to put them on after offering them up to the pipe.
My springs should be in mid week, so I'll let you know how I get on and hopefully be able to pass on part numbers that work.

Much appreciated,
I ordered an oem set a while back, but soon as they showed up in the mail I realized they were going to be a little tight for my liking.
