Air boot conversion question.

... an airboot! Which one? 2006 kx250f chassis with k5 motor. I want to race this thing in a months' time, and I really don't have a clue which one to get!

I'm doing a 07 conversion.
I'll look through my junk piles next week and see what might work..
I have a few different ones to choose from...

I used the 99-02 kx-250, you get a little rubbage on the shock spring but liveable. you do have to make a adapter plate to fit it to the 250f air box. 125 will not work

That was one of the boots I was going to check out.
I'm fairly certain any of the 125 boots will be too small so I am narrowing my search to 250cc on up..

This will give you an idea of what is involved in making the 99-02 KX250 boot work.















So far it is the best choice I have found from a bunch of bad choices  :lol:

Making an adapter plate is no problem. I love doing that sort of work, but rarely get the chance.

I remember seeing one on the Dutch guys' build report. but if you have both the orginal and the new, it's easy enough to do.

Here's a link to Bennys', with the template for a cr250 boot. I was all set to use the KX boot, but here they say the CR fits spot on. But it is for A 450 frame. What to do?

I just sold my last 00 cr250 boot last week.
I have a 98-99 cr250 boot that is being shipped to me and should be here Tuesday.
