Compression and rebound Location?
« on: March 17, 2013, 08:14:48 PM »
Hey all! Well ive had my 03' KX500 for a year and had no trouble from it. Recently freshened it up abit with new tyres, stickers and fork seals. It used to be understeery and s**t in the whoops which are everywhere where i ride. After changing the oil and setting the comp/rebound for my 135lbs weight i was smashing the whoops all day and its my favourite again! The settings were;

Front reb-10/comp-7  forks dropped 10mm        Rear reb-8/comp-12     100mm rider sag lever

and i figured rebound adjustment is at the top front and rear? is that right?

My big problem was locating the comp and rebound screws at both ends! There is nothing written on the bike and i dont have a manual lol...

I thought i would be compression up top for the front, and rebound top for the rear, but i looked at my 09 ktm200exc and its rebound top for the front..... im completely confused now.

Hopefully someone can sort this out for me  :-)

cheers, smitto

on the forks the compression is on the bottom and rebound on the top, on the shock compression on the top and rebound on the bottom
