kx500 v force delta reeds help
« on: March 06, 2013, 08:02:21 AM »
so got some vforce 3 in the mail, after reading threads i had to cut the "ears flush" to the intake boot, and assembled with the gaskets, and put carb back on. my question is when i did a quick kick it sounds like a duck caller in my intake boot like a loud squeek kind of a sound ive never heard. has this happened to anyone? thinking maybe an air leak and should i put some sealer with the gaskets? its in the intake boot or is it the reeds taking in more air resulting in a noise?

to clear any confusion, the noise is when engine is not running, spark plug cap off and exaust off too, just a slow kick down, didnt make this noise with stock reeds

Yeah they sound funny. Once you have it fired up just spray a lil' starting fluid around your intake & it will tell you real quick if theres an air leak problem.
if I only had a pair, I could actually ride this thing
