steel frame conversion kit?
« on: February 25, 2013, 11:21:04 PM »
hi guys i'am new here and was wondering if anyone could help me with  a question i got. The think is i want to convert my 05 kx250f to a kx500.If i buy a newer bike that is. but since i'am no good at welding. I don't want to risk screwing up my frame. So does anyone know where i can get a steel frame kit? all i have found so far is mps. Who says they can make an 07 aluminum frame and weld on the steering stops for my 05 fork. But i really want to go with steel on such a big 2 stroke engine. So any help would be appreciated!

you should have a look at the MPS thread on here before you make any decisions.

Did you read the link?  Some times other peoples experience is priceless.

well i've heard a lot of good things about mps (mainly from mps and two stroke motocross.com) but i don't think it was about the conversion kits. just their bikes. So is the conclusion. That their bikes are ok and kits suck. or has anyone ever had good experience about mps conversion kits?

you better take a kx250 2stroke 03-07 for your stealframe projekt...its the easiest way. and all what you finally have do to , istall the right swingarm (kx500 or older kx250 ) make brackets for the headstay and change the mountingbolts on the frame for the kx500 motor... ready.. :-D

big 2 stroke bikes are weapons for real men, who don´t fear death or devil. ;O)
´83 kx250, ´87 kx250 (with 360 big bore), 87 kx500, ´93 kx500 sfc
