MotoXpro are delighted to announce the 2013 motocross team as Chris Barber, Tai Elvin-Andrews, Bayliss Utting and of course, Team Manager Chris Endean competing in championships across East Anglia and the UK.
2012 saw the team’s first competitive year in local motocross championships with riders Bayliss Utting and Tai Elvin-Andrews who are returning for a further year under the MotoXpro tent. ‘The Boss’ Chris Endean’s decision to extend the riders contract for a further year was an easy one, “We are very excited for the season ahead and look forward to training and riding together. Our team is smaller this year making it easier to concentrate on the riders individually”.
Bayliss, who will be competing in East Anglian and also GT Cup championships on his KTM 50cc Auto is excited for the season ahead and developing his skills this year, “I rode last year with the MotoXpro team and was really pleased to be asked again for 2013. I really enjoy the team spirit, training, guidance at race meetings and being part of a ‘family’.” Having won the ‘Most Improved Rider’ at the Norfolk and Suffolk Junior Motorcycle Club Awards, watch out for some impressive results from this determined young rider (and his flying starts – he is the master of holeshots!).
Also returning in 2013 is Tai Elvin-Andrews for his ultimate year in the 65 class riding a KTM. Already delivering some excellent results in pre-season races he is all set to make a lasting impression in the class with MotoXpro, “I am really looking forward to racing with MotoXpro again this year and so happy to be picked again by Chris. It’s great to be in the team as it has helped my riding and confidence”. Tai will be training hard with Chris this season and commented, “I look forward to learning more techniques from ‘The Boss’ this year that I can use when competing in the GT Cup and East Anglian Championships”.
The ‘newbie’ to the team, Chris Barber, enters the family as a senior rider competing in several championships including Eastern Centre, East Anglian and NSJMC. Racing his Kawasaki KXF250, he brings a refreshing, enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn which was a big factor in Chris Endean’s decision to bring him under the MotoXpro tent. Also a talented musician, Chris Barber is eager to get the 2013 season underway, “I am really looking forward to racing for the MotoXpro team this season. I feel I can learn a lot and progress as a rider, both on the track and mentally. I have a lot to learn in racing and I hope to make some vast improvements this year”.
MotoXpro turned some heads in 2012, but South African Team Manager Chris see’s 2013 as a statement year for the team. “Our motto over the years has been "we do not buy champions, we build them" and we feel that this team will be a great, friendly, supportive team with riders who are dedicated to improving their skills and we will support them fully in their goals“. Chris will be competing in selected events and when he’s not racing he will be able to watch the team in action to provide all important support and guidance.
MotoXpro offers a range of off road services including their highly recommended suspension setup and workshop. Chris is well known for his expertise and carries out engine rebuilds, porting, performance improvements (including Kawasaki ECU mapping) and general maintenance and repair at his workshop based in Eye, Suffolk. When he is not busy playing with spanners and sprockets, Chris is at the tracks providing motocross training to riders of all ages and abilities and bike hire services. With 30+ years experience, Chris knows exactly how to guide riders into using the required techniques of a skilled dirt biker.
The 2013 team will be racing together at Mepal MX track on Sunday 24th February. Come and meet the riders and their families who make it all happen – without their support this would not be possible and MotoXpro would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their extensive support. Thanks also goes to team sponsors MotoXclean, RaceFX, MRS, Danger UK, Putoline and Allwag Promotions for their products and services and to Sarah Jacklin for her work on the new website and PR support.
