Good Ole New England Nor' Easter's
« on: February 10, 2013, 12:28:53 AM »
Nothin like getting 32+ inches of snow in 16 hours with near hurricane force winds at 71mph!!
My yard looks like Hiro-(F'n)-Shima...I'm surrounded by 60'-80' pine trees, and lost 4 of them...two hit my barn, does'nt look like any structural damage...won't know till I can get inside and inspect. We lost power at 9:40ish Friday night,it just came back on at 7:30 this morning...thank God too....it was 44.6 degrees in my place this morning :x!
The s***y part is,I can't get my sled outa my barn and go ripping around, cause there's an 80' pine dangerously leaning two feet right in front of the doors :x
Once I can actually walk around without being up to my neck in snow drifts(literally),I'll snap some pics.
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

It's good to hear that your uninjured.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Yikes! We usually get two or three big snowfalls each winter, but not sustained wind speeds like that  :-o
Like Blaster said, Good news is you all are O.K.    I've been seeing some pics on the internet news.  my back hurts just seeing all that stuff :|
I'm sure you have some experience with those tree's,  Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.  Oh yeah, you got to pace yourself!
  Hang in there,

Thanks Tuck and Blaster...yeah it was quite a ride Friday night, listening to the wind and branches landing on the roof, just waiting for a tree to slice right through the house. The weather guys were right about this one for a change. The last one "I" remember being this bad was in 1978...the difference was that one was a long drawn out storm, this one was just fast and friggin serious. The Massachusetts govener Deval Patrick was here in my town at 8am this morning to declare "state of emergency".
For my part of New England...Plymouth,MA which is pretty much Cape Cod,it's extremely rare to see such amounts of snow in one storm. The last one was in 2005 and dumped a mere 22inches  :-D

Got about 24"  :-o

I've been plowing and snowblowing my a$$ off for the past 3 days. Got my yard in good shape. I also had to snowblow off my above ground pool. If 2' of snow on top of the pool gets rain soaked, then freezes, then I can't remove it and come the first big thaw, all that massive weight can buckle and snap the side walls ! That's a BAD situation !
