KX250 plastics onto a KX500 and exhasut question
« on: September 12, 2004, 11:21:17 PM »
I have recently just bought a KX500 and although the bike is fantastic it is looking a bit dated on the plastics front.  I have seen a few pictures with the KX5 having the KX250 plastics and seat on.  Is this easy to do?  I have already changed the rear mudgaurd to a 250 item.

Also my bike has a Pro Circuit fron pipe on but an original rear item, what it the best rear pipe to put on?  Will any other than a Pro circuit fit on?

Cheers

Rick

This is a simply change, and all it takes is money.  Here is the link.

I have had the kit for over a year, and love it.  I have also installed a KX250 rear fender, and just this morning, someone thought it was a 250.

Good luck.

Rick

That kit does not replace the stock seat does it?  Also, can I use the zipty shroad and tank with a Pro circuit pipe, or do I have to buy their pipe?  I also put a new rear fender on my kx500 I think it looks much better.  However it was not a 93 ufo.  It was made by acerbis and is supposed to fit a kx 125-500 (no specific year).  However it did require alot of trimming and grinding.  If i figure out how to post picts I will.

Cheers for that, but in the Gallery in the 'big green monster' folder the KX500 in there has been Supa moto'd with the 250 plastics, 250 tank and the 250 seat.  Does anyone know how dificult this is?  Doe it require drilling the frame etc?

The tank is build by Jadoul Motosports/Belgium
You have to rebuild the rear frame
Plastic from KX 125/250 -02
Seat from KX 125/250 -02

When you say rebuild the rear frame - is it relitively simple to do???  Also what sort of cost is the tank?????

It?s not so difficult to rebuild the rear frame (I take some parts from KX 250-02) i will take a picture and add in the gallery.
The Jadoul?s tank cost 400-500 Euro.I dont remember.

Im very interested in the seat conversion. I like to hump the gas tank when setting a turn every now and then. More details on how this was done on the green monster would be awesom. The Jadoul Motosports/Belgium
could not be found either.
