88 k5 engine buid adivice..what parts to use????

my mate works in local shop and i can get all trade prices on prox stuff,rod kit piston and bearings... he reckons these are d dogs?he can get me weisco stuff but extra cost for no reason...any help appreciated

I would not go with the Pro x piston, for me  I use nothing but forged, I agree with your mate Dogs with a capitial D.

This is only my opinion, some people like cast and this will spark another debate I'm sure.

I dont know this for sure but I thought the proX rods where just reboxed chinese hotrods of wiseco's. Veshrah's are Japanese atleast, arent they? I still am hoarding an IMS proseries for my next build , but I'd like know what the concensus is on other rods for future projects.

On the pistons ,if your buddys in is at prox, just get the wossner stuff it is a work of art compared to any other bike piston. CNC'd "inside" & out & like their 90mm big bore pistons weigh within a couple grams of stock cast, which says to me they pay attention to balance factors too
if I only had a pair, I could actually ride this thing
