Big End Side Clearance
« on: December 22, 2012, 06:21:52 PM »
Hi Guys,

Been playing around fitting some new reeds and a spacer to my 500 "Project".  I thought I would reach in to the intake and wiggle the piston from side to side. Alarmingly it moved about 1mm.  I am guessing this is the thrusts on the side of the bigend showing they are worn out. It didn't seem to have any up and down play as far as I could check.
Anybody know how much "Side thrust clearance" is safe?
I have had it running and it sounded ok but I think it is going to need some attention.
Thanks in advance.
