now comes my question, where is the little animal?? at this hard crash at topspeed it is quiet impossible to resist for any animals or humans...
this kind of crash could happen to anyone . the risk is always there...
i think the baja 1000 crew should be thinking of make some things a little bit safer for the bikes... track layout etc...
taking off the bikes out of the baja 1000 would be like eating a cheeseburger without cheese...
accidents are sad, but they could happen anytime to anyone.
20 years ago i crashed on our mx-track with a rabbit, that unfortunaly was running into the spokes of my frontwheel... my big luck were the bushes beside the track, that gave me a soft landing ...
Don't ask me how I know.......but the day of the incident and the day after, members of Team KTM scouted a large area looking for signs of an injured animal.....they went to the local ranchers asking if they had any missing or injured animals......attempts were made to shed some light on this subject. Nothing was found. This was a freak accident. Part of the reason people (motorcyclists in particular) race in Baja is for the legendary challange of beating the terrain, elements, distance and all the risks involved...........Men race the Isle Of Man TT on a race course made up of public streets and roads for multiple laps of 37.73 miles for the glory of beating the risks.
For those of you local boys who may be interested...................

They will have these shrits for sale for $20 and all the proceeds will go to Kurts family........if you don't make it, the shirts will be available through mail order.
