colortune? heard about it / used it?
« on: December 18, 2012, 02:18:03 PM »
Has anyone here used a colortune tuning tool? It's a sparkplug set into a glass and metal base to allow you to be able to see the combustion flame color while the motor is running. I was thinking it would be a very handy piece of kit and would save a ton of time with jetting in a motor.
what do u think?

That's a cool tool
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Yeah, i was wondering about the loading on a motor too, i have a head cam i can use, tape it in place and go for a burst, that should tell you of any lean or excessively rich points, but as a initial setup tool and also as a pre purchase tool ( stick it in and kick it over check the jetting, see if the seller is full of s#!t) it would be a nifty little tool to have.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day!
Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night , Light a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life!

dont know about you but i've got a desert tank on my 500 and no room to moove, having to pull a plug every time just to read it, would be reason enough on its own for me to buy this tool, would also make dyno sessions go a lot smoother. they have different kits for cars and motorcycles,i would think they had a range of spark plugs.
