classis VHS

I am in the process of transfering these and many others to digital so that I may post them up.

I once heard my buddy Bill ask Danny Hamel after a race....
"How can someone who looks like a high school band tuba player go so d**n fast on a bike?!"

If you go to youtube you can find only clips from the two movies from above.  The only one that I felt I should get permission to upload though was Danny's tribute video.  I was able to get ahold of Daryl Folks which appeared in the video and was very close to Danny.....I no longer have contact with Danny's family so I asked him if he could get the ok from Danny's family to post up this video.  Here is the corespondance exchanged with Daryl......

Hey Daryl.....you probably don't remember me but I was around team green alot during the 90's and I have a question for you.....
I have one of the "Sport of a King" videos and I've had many requests to post the video online for everyone to see.....I know that you had a big hand in that video and I didn't want to do this without someones permission.

Oscar

Oscar, I like the idea on posting the "Sport of a King" video. It is
certainly fine as far as I'm concerned, however I had better check with the Hamels' to make sure that they don't have any issues with the posting. I
will check with them after new years and in the meantime message me back
and let me know where you plan on posting the video (i.e. YouTube etc.)
because I am guessing that they will ask that question.

Daryl

Hey Daryl....I'll hold off for now. As far as posting goes, I am a member of the kxriders forum and they are all big enthusiasts of vintage team green stuff. My buddy dave actually has 2 of dannys old MXA seats, his factory pipe and one of Wardys old kx500s that he dual sported and actually got a ca plate for it. They would get a kick out of Danny's video and I'm sure that there are many more people would get a kick out of it as well. Youtube is also a possibility but I will do nothing that Roger and Marcia are not cool with. I'm sure Roger might not remember me either but I have a precious few videos of me and the Hamel family together in Baja so many years ago that I think they would dig. I am also interested in some of the rides you have in Nevada and I would be interested in joining..........Let me know what Roger and Marcia say and assure them that I will respect and honor any decision they make. If you or the Hamels have any questions for me I can be contacted at 818-***-****. Thanks brother.

Oscar

Oscar, I spoke with Dave Hamel about posting "Sport of a King" on the kxriders forum and he like myself thought it would a good idea, so go ahead and have at it. I think at one time it might have been posted on you tube but if not you can post there as well. By the way Dave did reassure that Marcia and Roger would go along with his decision. As for Trac-On there is no membership fee only an entry fee per event. There also several options such as marked/orgnized public rides, private/custom multi day private rides and las vegas half/full day rides. All of this info. can be found at trac-on.com if you haven't already been there. Let me know what the response is for the video as Dave and I would love to here some feedback. Gotta run for now and take care Oscar.

Daryl

Thats Awsome Daryl. I'm sure that there are lots of people who would really enjoy the full video....there are still shots floating around youtube however they are just small clips. I'll keep you posted as soon as I get everything rolling. Thanks again

Oscar

.........so I have the ok to post up this treasure.  I just have to get my hands on the software to get this done.  As soon as I do, I'll look enjoy forwarding any positive comments to Daryl and Dannys family.

USMC 500 Do you run the Danny Hamel FB page? Cant wait to see the video! I have both VHS and DVD of Time To Ride, which I watch often. Also have Time To Ride 2 somewhere.
A couple of 03 and 04 KXs, a few YZs, 3 PE 400s, a DR and a TS.

no I don't run Dannys page on FB........there are 2 fellas that run it.  One of them I don't know but the other is Mike "Hodgie" Hodges who was Dannys friend and mechanic.  I am in the process of converting these videos so hopefully I'll have them up soon.
