Having electrical problems on your K5?

sandblaster:
Thanks Tuck.
I'm working on it.
Hope to have it fairly completed in a few days.
Then everyone can trash me :-)

:lol:This is awesome. Very interesting. Can't wait to try the growing wire stator to coil.

crazyolbastard:
Fantastic! Looks like a pro write up.
I`ve never seen such a complete and easy to follow
break down.

Thanks a million Blaster!

Awesome write up as usual Mike. One question though does it matter which blk/w wire out of the cdi goes to the coil or kill switch? There are 2 & I try to leave the kill switch plugged in when I do anything with the electrical, but theyre both the same length in the same spot & I dont know if they interchange. Seems like this could get alot of reassembly electrical woes if they dont interchange, along with fresh paint & no ground of course  :-D.

I tried searching it but couldnt find an answer

sandblaster:
I never tried switching them so I can't honestly answer that question.
However, there is a difference in where the Black/White wires come out of the CDI.
Take a look at the pic.
Notice how one of the Black/White wire come out of the longer loom and goes to the stator.
The other Black/White wire comes out of the shorter loom and goes to the kill switch.
I'm sure one of the Guru's could tell you what will happen but I wouldn't take a chance on switching them if you don't have too.
