Buying parts from Mrcycles.com
« on: October 21, 2012, 07:29:47 PM »
Hi Guys,

I am in Australia and looking to buy some parts from the US as we get raped here!!!
So far Mrcycles seems the best.  What are they like to deal with??  I am looking at buying a kickstart and it is half the price that I would have to pay in Melbourne!!!!

Any other places worth checking out??  I have already checked oemcycles.com and worldofcycles.com.

Thanks in advance

For new parts I use these guys a lot and their service has been excellent:

I use to order from MRCycles a few years ago. Back then they had the best prices I could find. They shipped fairly quick and it was rare for them to ship partial orders. Always seemed to have what I needed in stock or they found it quick. They changed their site format and layout for parts ordering. They also raised all their prices and were no longer the cheapest for OEM. They actually became more expensive and no longer competitive. That was 03 years ago so maybe I should give them another look?

I then started to purchase from Service Honda but we had a falling out! After paying close to $12,000 for a KX500AF and buying parts from them exclusively for over 02 years they screwed me over on a rear fender for my RM250. I ordered all OEM plastic. Everything I received was OEM except the rear fender. The OEM bag it came in was slit open and the counterfeit fender which I'm pretty sure was a Polisport as it said "Made in Italy" was nowhere near the quality of OEM. To make a long story short their parts manager tried to paint me as the bad guy and concocting some scheme to get over on them. There's a lot more to the story but I'd be typing for awhile. I gave them every opportunity to make it right! I will never buy anything from SH again!

AJ used to come to this site. Hope he sees this. I thought they were kinda rude about selling the pipes for AF conversions, to non-SH owners seems to me parts is parts. As we have seen doing your own conversion can be less than the quality I believe SH has learned with their experience. Slow economies are hardest on leisure activities, so in my opinion you have to offer better service to survive it.

SH was also reluctant to sell me a pipe as well.
Not rude but reluctant.
The reason being is that a AF bike being built by the customer may or may not require additional modifications to make the pipe fit.
Some people understand this.
Others do not.
The last thing any company want's is returns, they are expensive and time consuming.
But, if you explain the situation to them they generally will work with you.

Hi guys,

I ended up buying through mrcycles.  I checked the others and the prices were all similar.  I recieved my parts in the mail today took just over 2 weeks to get to me in Melbourne Australia.  Postage was a little dearer than I thought but everything was there and I am happy.
