Clutch release lever
« on: October 19, 2012, 12:08:46 PM »
I had the bottom end rebuilt and when I went to put the new clutch cable on I noticed that the clutch release lever was freely moving.  I was able to pull it out once I hit a certain angle.  I did notice that it was freshly greased.  What do I need to do to engage it or what am I missing?  It's a 91 KX500.  Thanks, Greg

Sounds like it isn't in all the way or, somebody forgot to install the clutch push rod. If you get it in the right position you can pull the lever out, so if the rod is in fact in rotate the lever towards the back of the motor and push down, once down rotate back forwards.
