could it be the dry side seal?
« on: October 07, 2012, 04:48:21 PM »
Hey fellow K5 lovers!  After letting  my 94 kx500 sit for a couple months during the hot months I drained and cleaned my tank, disassembled and cleaned carb, new plug and went to go on a ride with my son.  As soon as I began to get on it (bout half throttle) she fell flat on her face (son went rippin by on his yz85). Went back pulled stator cover to check wiring and found  small pool of oil on the bottom of the inside of the cover and under stator. Would that indicate a seal failure possibly causing a lean condition?   THANKS EVERYBODY, THE VAST KNOWLEDGE I GAIN NEVE 8-)R CEASES TO AMAZE!!             LONG LIVE 2-SMOKERS
