Oh that F'n sucks....ANYONE who steals a bike,(or anything for that matter),needs to DIE the most horrifying, painful death known to man!!.

Sad part is,there's probably more that got stolen over the weekend, seeings how half of New England was at Southwick....leaving all kinds of un-atended innocent bikes to be stolen.
I'm in SE Mass,so I probably won't hear anything,but if I do,I'll let you know!!
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

Thanks. And you are 100% correct slow and painfull, :x and they hope the cops get them first not me and my buddy.

My wife looked out at 9:30 it was there, When I came home from NHMS at 10:15 it was gone, chain and locks on the ground. WTF

If the/my timing was better I would have run them over with the one ton dually and 46 ft of trailer. :-D

And I hated missing the wick :-(

Not that it makes that much difference, because if a thief wants something bad enough, chances are, they're gonna do whatever it takes to get whatever it is....but this is the main reason I keep mine locked-up in my living room with my dog....and two monster locks through the front rotor, and two through the rear sprocket. If they want it...they're gonna have to work for it!!

It was out front for sale. Yes your right, I have pics of mine in the motel room in indy, conn, ohio everywhere I raced and stayed at a motel.

Slept in the trailer with the bikes in providence for the amt supercross, under I95.

A lock will keep a honest man out, a S&W can and will make a honest man of you.

Really sorry for your buddys loss, some POS just wanted your bike more than you. Takes a lot of balls to steal a bike out in plain view. The stolen bike probably won't show up on CL or ebay because any new owner that wan'ts to register the bike will immediately see a red flagged VIN. That bike will most likely be sold off locally or stripped for parts. Watch EBay for '11 KX450 parts (peticulary the complete engine).  Alls you can do is keep asking around and raising awareness. I've found most ME folts to be totally upstanding theft is rare in ME . Unfortunately MX bikes are the easiest target, locked via chain or not...

I feel for you brother.
This may be a time for all of us to reflect on the value of our toys.
I checked with my homeowners insurance company and they do not cover bikes even if they are stolen from within a locked garage.
The insurance to cover them was only about 50 per year.
Food for thought, what's your bike worth?

I hate a friggin' thief! This happened to me 4yrs ago and I am still looking for it. If those cops are like ours, you will surely find them first. Our county sheriff dept. is such a joke. They would rather harrass an elderly widow doing 5 over , than look for stolen property or shut down meth labs.

Getting stuff back yourself is about the only way to do it, my son had a Diamondback bike stolen when he was a kid. We reported it & got the "yeah F you we aint doing anything about it" line. We even had it registered with them.
Anyway I just kept my eye open when cruising around town. Spotted a little bastard riding it with all the stickers stripped off, yanked him off it & said that aint yours wanna go talk to the cops? s**t just took off running.

If you know where it is & your possitive take a friend whos willing to hold a shotgun & just go get the thing. Make sure its someone who'll have youre back. Most people like that arent going to want the cops involved so their guilt is on your side. Watch the local riding areas & keep the vin on hand sometimes people are just stupid enough to ride it.

Along the line of getting someone to go with you to get it, you oughta hear Roosters story about dealing with Stewart. There's alot of stand up guys in the riding community who will have your back. I'd suggest hitting some of the bigger sites like ADV riders & thumper talk to try to get the word out to as many local people as possible. Hit some of the local shops with a poster , if someone see's a guy who just got a new bike that hes riding like he stole it or trying to move the parts... Wish you luck
if I only had a pair, I could actually ride this thing

& to the people I like  FYYFF

I heard of a situation like this.
It's sad but the police were also not interested.
So the guy went to Walmart, bought a throw away cel phone with cash, and made a urgent 911 call describing how he saw a guy being stabbed in the storage facility where the stolen bike was being kept, and quickly hung up.
Then he cleaned the phone and tossed it.
The police quickly arrived and upon not finding anyone stabbed they left without checking for stolen property
So, the next day he did the same thing only this time he said someone was shot..
Well the police did arrive and apparently got the hint because they started snooping around and found several stolen items including the bike.
The good news was the guy got his bike back.
The bad news is he got caught for making the 911 calls.
He ended up getting some community service time.
