this is one of those cases where I wish the moose KILLED this idiot.
in the 37-38 years I've been sleddin with my family, we've easily come across 75+ moose in the trails...even mothers with calves which is where EXTREME caution needs to be taken.
whenever we come up on a moose, we just shut the sleds down and remain quiet and no sudden movement...and they'll move along on there own...never once have we had a problem.
this moron asked to be charged by yelling at it and clapping his hands...I'd love to see him try the same thing with an Alaskan brown bear.
sorry for the rant...just pisses me off to see morons hurting animals because their own stupidity caused it.
I agree with you Foxx4, I wouldn't have even stayed on the trail, veered off to the left through the trees avoiding the poor inocent moose (trying to survive a winter) all together. This stupid s**t gets sledding shut down.
that's exactly it I.D. ....just a moose trying to survive the cold...we've never even bothered trying to go around them, just for the reason they don't get spooked and charge, and as long as you're quiet, you can even get some good pics before they wander off into the woods.
and yeah, it doesn't do the sport any good.
and I'm not one that's against hunting by any means...but there's a huge difference between hurting an animal to live off and feed a family, and hurting one because of being an absolute idiot.
