Cheap Valve Spring Compressor
« on: June 01, 2012, 11:45:52 AM »
How to make a CHEAP valve spring compressor.
Recently we ran into a 2002 HONDA XR400R that we wanted to replace the seals on and didn't have a valve spring compressor.
So, Jason at Dirt Brothers showed us how to make one CHEAP!
Ingredients:
(1) Large C clamp, in this example we used a 7".
(2) swing arm bushings or some pipe .86" OD or there abouts.
Tools:
Bench grinder
Welder
Hack saw.
Total cost about 5 dollars

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Thanks.
We used this on a 07 KTM 450 head yesterday and it worked perfectly.
It will be interesting to see how it works on other bikes.
