1990 KX500 forks

Hi guys,

I bought a 1990 KX500 recently and am wondering what can be done with the suspension.  Will it handle ok with heavied fork springs and a rear spring?  Or should I look around for newer forks for it?  I am going to be trail riding mainly.  What weight springs would you suggest for it?

Don't know how much money you're looking to spend...but it might be in your interest to call Factory Connection.For what type of riding you'll be doing,I see no need to get newer forks/shock.A good re-valve and possibly heavier springs should set you up just fine.

My suspension was worked over before I got it, but it only has stiffer springs.  That's not to say that you don't need "re-valving."

I weigh 250 with gear, and my sag is correct, as to what is "recommended."  I have a Pink rear spring, but don't know what the rating is.

My only partial complaint is the seat height.  I am 6'1" and have a 37" inseam, and I knee the rear fender, sometimes.  Maybe I am just gettin' old, though.
