New for forum, not to KX500
« on: March 01, 2012, 03:32:34 PM »
Ive had my 1990 KX5 since around 1998.

Back then I rode it at many local tracks here in So Calif including Carlsbad Raceway and the old Competition Park as well as all our local deserts from El Mirage to Superstition.

The frame, motor and rear shock are all 1990KX500 but the front forks and triple clamps are 99 CR250.
3rd gear is double cir-clipped on the shaft.

Last week after sitting for 4 years with some fresh gas she fired up and I proceeded to set a land speed record in my neighborhood.
I re jetted to the Team Green desert settings as I had a part throttle bog before and it has since cleared up and is as powerful as I remembered it.

I mainly ride at Superstition and usually take the bike out when my RC Airplane club has their camping trips which in the winter is about once a month.

The club that goes out is Miramar RC, I am actually part of Fallbrook RC but got to know the Miramar guys after a friend who is a member invited me out.

I fly mainly glow airplanes from modded trainers to classic pattern ships.  Have a few 450 CP helis, a MOA rock crawler and a Blitz and a Rusty also.

More about the bike I forgot.  Straight rear fender from a 93KX250 and a Ricky Stator light set up from back in the early 00's

No its all good  :-D

My MOA is a chepo RS10XT but have pretty much changed/upgraded everything and settled on full droop suspension.

Never made it down to Krazy's shop.
I am up in N. County  (Oceanside) and just havent had a reason to go.
