1993 KX500 Fork MidValves
« on: March 21, 2012, 04:23:05 PM »
I bought a set of 1993 KX500 forks to put on my 1989, but the mid-valve is shot hense no rebound control.  Has anyone faced this issue and found a fix?

I read in a couple different books that the piston rod bushing is prone to wear on these. My Eric Gorr book even talks of replacing good ones with a tighter fitting aftermarket bushing.  I thought I had a nice set of '94 forks until I tore apart 3 other sets and found a pair of damper assemblies that was much tighter, but not everybody has a big stash of junk to pick through, surely a new bushing can be sourced.  race tech maybe?
