Aprilia RXV 550 ? reviews, experience

Anyone have one, or ever try one out? I've thought if I ever had to replace my 2-strokes with a 4 it's the only one with comparable power. Also anybody have experience with aprilia in general for parts, particularly older models.
Theres an 07 rxv550 with 90miles on it,for $5000 grand , on bikefinds right now. Not bad for a bike that was in the 9-10 range new. They have the sweetest looking frame & swinger, brilliant pen work from the designer. Aint gonna happen anytime soon but its one on "the list"

I wasnlooking at them pretty serious when they first came out...    But the motors were going bang faster than fireworks at chinese newyears...

I think aprilia was replacing them..   Not sure...  But I stopped looking then

cant remember exactly what the problem was, but I do believe it was with the '07.  check out SupermotoJunkies forum and that should help you.  Also if you are really interested make sure the motor was pulled apart and resealed, remember all of the good SM bikes like lots of maintenance. (oil changes,valves checked, ect.)

Yeah they did puke the 07 motors. aprilia was good on warranty from what i heard though & replaced the ones that did with the updated 08's.

Sounds like a seal goes & then it sucks all the oil into the airbox. I dunno  does sound like they have some definite issues, electrical as well
