all depends on how much money you want to spend, and how long you want to go without having to worry about adjusting it....or even worse, having to buy a new one every season. My favorite choice is the Regina.Ive used them for about 12 years and love them.I got 4 years outa one on my 04 KX250 and only had to adjust it twice......to me,they're well worth the extra money.

I broke a brand new regina gold, everyone raved about this chain. In less than 10 gals gas on the ice it broke and I don't need to go into details about what happend next. $$$
I know alot of people that have had nothing but good luck with them, not me.
I run a DID gold plated would need to see the box to say what it is, it's the stongest chain they make in a 520 I think.

+1
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

I have use an RK 50LFO (XW ring) in a 520 for my KLX650R (enduro model), NX650, and my KLX450 and 530 (for my ZX9R and FZR1000) and never had problems with stretch or breakages.  The same will be going on the KLX500 when it is finished (I have a fresh one waiting).

RK claim it to be their strongest, and I even get several from sprokets to each chain on the big bore thumpers (I know you should change it as a kit, but the chain doesn't even show any signs of stretching and the chain and rear sproket still appear new with very minimal <10%wear on the rear sproket).

Hope this helps.

yep used regina on my old kx500s very good chains tried a cheapish renthal chain ,not very impressed im afraid unlike the sprockets and bars d.i.d didnt seem to last my boys got a czech chain (c z chains ) is actualy realy good holes in the sides of the links lets all the cack (muck sandblaster) out but regina chains are the nuts
