Does any one use GPS when they ride?I want to be able to map out the trails I ride  and would like some advice,thanks.

I run a garmin etrex on my bars.  Its kind of fun to plot the trails travelled with topo software.  Also works good for marking waypoint of friend out of gas in the middle of the dunes.

Thanks for the info,do your systems run on batteries or from your bikes lighting coils?Any problems from vibration?

my buddy uses 12v cigarrette lighter adapter to power his gps.he soldered up 10 AA rechargable batteries to make 12v battery.here are a couple pics he mounted battery pack and cigarrette lighter adapter in his wr426 airbox.

etrex lasts about 12 hours on a couple double aa's

my buddies 12v battery isnt wired  to charge off bikes electrical system.he uses 12v charger[small power pack style] whenever battery gets low.he gets  70hrs. to 80hrs. use from a fully charged battery pack
